BSR shows speed, strong run hampered by crash(es):
Looking to improve on a solid outing the night before, Blake and the Revolution Racing team prepared the #6 Bozard Ford Lincoln Rocket Chassis for the final night of the East Bay portion of the "Re-opening Tour."
Blake timed in 7th fastest in Group B, slotting him into the 3rd starting position in heat race 3; behind Tuesday and Wednesday's eventual winner Brandon Overton, and Lucas Oil Series current point leader Tim McCreadie. Blake held his own for the 10-lap qualifier, coming across the stripe in 3rd.
For the 40-lap, $7,000-to-win feature, Blake would start on the outside of row 5 in the 10th position. Getting wrapped up in an early lap scrounge, Blake would overcome to pull all the way up to the 6th position. On lap 12, Blake was again caught up in a wreck, this time, ending his run for good due to heavy body damage.
The Revolution Racing team will head home to St. Augustine to make repairs before returning to action.
